Resort Recreation: Maplewood State Park

parkAlthough autumn doesn’t officially start till the 23rd of September, the leaves are already starting to change here at East Silent Lake Resort in Otter Tail Lakes Country. One of my favorite things to do during this time of year is travel through the wonderful State Parks Minnesota has to offer and look at the beauty that is Minnesota in the fall. Lucky for us we have a State Park only 10 minutes away! Maplewood State Park is a beautiful site to see any time of year, though it is at its best when the leaves are changing. Trees are not the only thing it has to offer when it comes to nature there is also about 150 different types of birds and about 50 species of mammals! The trails travel through the entire park which attract hikers, horseback riders, and cross-country skiers. The park has 8 major lakes and many ponds to fish, swim, and relax in. If you love the outdoors as much as I do, this State Park is something worth sharing with the whole family during your stay with us in Otter Tail Lakes Country. It’s something you won’t want to miss.
