Minnesota Fishing Report

The walleye bite in the Detroit Lakes area remains very good. Most fish are still relating to shoreline breaks, holding in the cabbage weeds. For the most fish, use jig and minnow combinations, live bait rigs with minnows or leeches, or slip bobbers with a leech. Muskies are active in the weedy areas on the flats with sharp breaks to deep water, especially on Big Detroit and Pelican lakes. Crappies remain in the shallows, hitting jigs tipped with plastics or minnows. Northern pike anglers report very active fish in the shallows; for the most action, use large minnows.
