An additional 8 inches of snow hit the Detroit Lakes area earlier this week, and high winds created significant drifting on some area lakes. Few anglers are venturing out and no reports have been received over the past few days. Anglers are advised to not drive their vehicles out onto the ice since most plowed roads have snow drifts making travel difficult. Snowmobiles, track vehicles and foot travel are the only mode of travel on the lakes as of mid-week. The ice remains 28-30 inches thick.
