The Winter Wonderland Snowmobile Trails will be open for riding in the coming week. As of Dec. 4, the Detroit Lakes area had received 8-12 inches of snow. Some of the snowmobile trails will be packed, but more snow is needed to groom. Some of the cross-country ski trails in Becker and Otter Tail Counties are being roll-packed to prepare a good, solid base. Most other ski and snowmobile trails in this region of the state are either in poor condition or remain closed due to a lack of snow.

Maplewood State Park had 8 inches of snow in the woods, with snow still falling. The ski and snowmobile trails were open, but remained ungroomed. At least 10 inches of snow is needed before grooming will begin.
