The Winter Wonderland Snowmobile Trails running through the Detroit Lakes area are open for riding. Total snowfall accumulation is now 8-15 inches. The trails are fully groomed and will be groomed weekly throughout the season. Trail conditions range from fair to good, and the trail base is up to 3 inches deep in areas with deeper snow cover. Over 250 miles of trails in the Detroit Lakes area offer views of rolling prairie to secluded woodlands with wildlife to snowmobilers. Cross country skiers are enjoying excellent conditions on most area trails.
Maplewood State Park has approximately 8-10 inches of snow in the woods. The ski trails are groomed and in fair to good condition, with a 2-4 inch base. The snowmobile trails are also in fair to good shape, but these remain ungroomed.
