The Winter Wonderland Snowmobile Trails running through the Detroit Lakes vicinity are groomed and in good to excellent condition, with a base measuring 5-14 inches. Over 250 miles of trails run through the Detroit Lakes area, offering views of rolling prairie and secluded woodlands with abundant wildlife. Cross-country skiers are also enjoying good to excellent conditions on trails just to the north. These trails have a 10-20 inch base.

At Maplewood State Park, more than 2 feet of snow covers the ground. All ski and snowmobile trails have been groomed, and conditions are good to very good. The ski trails have a 10-12 inch base, and the snowmobile trails have an 8 inch base.
