Maplewood State Park currently offers very good conditions for snowmobiling. These trails have a 5-7 inch groomed surface. The ski trails are groomed and in good condition with some drifting. Average snow depth in the woods is 17 inches. Maplewood will offer a Candlelight Ski event this Saturday, Feb. 22, from 6-8:30 p.m.
The panfish have been more difficult to catch lately. They seem to still be lingering near drops on mid-depth weedy flats but have really become impersonal and unreasonable. The Otter Country Trail Association’s 346 miles of snowmobile trails should be fully regroomed by this weekend. Maplewood State Park offers excellent conditions for snowmobiling. These trails have a 5-7 inch groomed surface. The ski trails are partially groomed and in fair to good condition with some drifting. Average snow depth is 16 inches.
