Full Moon Should Trigger Bigger Fish

It should be a nice weekend for fishing! Make sure to check out this week’s fishing report before heading out on the lake!

The heat and humidity have slowed fishermen down, but those venturing out are finding active fish. Crawlers and leeches are turning fish in 12 to 15 feet on some lakes and deeper on others. Use a live bait jig set up with leeches, or crawlers, in 13 to 20 foot depths for the best walleye action. Northern Pike are active in 15 to 20 foot weeds hitting sucker minnows and spoons. Anglers are taking bass using spinnerbaits in 8 to 15 foot weeds. Muskie fishing has been good on a few select lakes in 20 foot weeds in the early morning and evenings. Anglers have had the most success while using Jakes. Panfish remain very active on most area lakes.  With the full moon coming this week, it should trigger some bigger fish to be active.
